Hey Friend!
"It's a ****show."
Was how my new course student described his new job.
We were having our 1:1 career strategy call.
Talking about how he could improve his career situation.
Was he lacking something, maybe?
I asked him 3 questions:
"Are you clear on your roles, responsibilities and expectations?"
"Do you feel confident in your abilities to meet your performance KPIs?"
"Which skill do you need to improve on to work better and faster?"
He was silent for a while.
Then, he said:
"Mei Phing, I have no idea how to answer these questions."
"I think I'm the problem."
Here's what he was actually lacking: Clarity, Confidence, Competence.
I told him to get started with The Corporate Survivor's 3-step framework.
And, commit to attending our monthly group mentoring calls.
Take small steps towards the big goal.
I'll tell you the same thing.
It's not impossible.
You just don't know how.
So Friend, what's your biggest career problem? :)
With love (and encouragement),
Mei Phing xx
